Dangerous Man Brewing Taproom Preview

Dangerous Man Brewing Company will open their new Northeast Minneapolis taproom to the public on Saturday, June 13th at 12pm.
Dangerous Man Brewing closed its original Northeast Minneapolis taproom in the fall of 2023. The collective Minnesota craft beer scene went into various stages of grief as a place that so many frequented was no more. Yes, there was the effort to open a new taproom on the property in Maple Lake, MN, where the production facility is located. However, that effort stalled for a variety of reasons. Ultimately, the decision to close Dangerous Man Brewing was made and the equipment was put up for sale.

That is where many of us thought that the Dangerous Man Brewing story ended. However, little did we know that a chance meeting between Jeremy Kuhns and Rob Miller would wind up bringing the Dangerous Man brand back from the dead.
So, here we are. Jeremy Kuhns is poised to open up his new brewery in Northeast Minneapolis on Saturday, June 13th. There will be 9 beers on tap, provided the industry, friend, and family didn’t drink it all at the soft openings.

While The Taproom Is New, There Are Some Cool Taproom Callbacks To The Old DM Spot

Dangerous Man’s new taproom feels original. I could see the temptation to try to recreate the old spot, but that would have come off as disingenuous and set Reddit into the high blood pressure zone. From the bar to the artwork, there are some things that feel quite familiar.
Behind The New Dangerous Man Bar

As you can see, there is still the familiar wood, but it is changed up just a bit. I like how cozy all the wood makes the bar feel. In fact, the entire room has a much more relaxed feel than the previous HeadFlyer taproom that was brighter and more minimalist.

Relax and Hang Out A While

Most of the folks who discovered craft beer like me in their thirties are now quite familiar with orthotics and the joy of a chair with a back. Luckily, the Dangerous Man taproom has a lot of different options for us. I especially am a fan of the booth seats that line the wall of the spot where HeadFlyer had their projector screen.

The other cool space is near the fireplace. I have to be honest, I didn’t even remember HeadFlyer having a fireplace. The area that I have coined, “The DM Den” is a collection of really lumbar-friendly leather chairs that Jeremy Kuhns found on Facebook Marketplace. They are unique, and comfy. I can picture myself reading a leather-bound book there while I sip on a tulip of peanut butter porter this fall.
The DM Event Space
If you have a life event coming up or just have a lot of friends who are into drinking beer while they get backrubs, Dangerous Man has a fantastic event space.

Murals to Marvel
One thing I love to find in a taproom is some beautiful artwork. Whether it is a mural with just a brewery logo like Heavy Rotation has or a work of art that covers the entire wall of the brewery like Wandering Leaf, a mural can really be a fun thing to visually explore. The phoenix mural in the new taproom is just magnificent. As Jeremy Kuhns mentioned on the podcast, he could spend a lot of time dissecting this and potentially discovering the meaning of life.

My guess is that you will enjoy your own exploration of the new digs as you sip on some delicious beers. I am just absolutely stoked to enjoy this new Dangerous Man experience and I hope you are, too. Again, the Dangerous Man grand opening is happening on Saturday, June 13th at their new home in the Miller Textile building. See you there! Cheers!
